I first got interested in this issue because I have been in classes where we would have debates or discussions that would take up whole class periods. I felt out of the loop because I did not know what was really going on. In these classes, my classmates had very stong opinions either one way or the other and I was more on the fence or did not care either way. Now that this has been an issue for a couple years, I only know what people have told me or what I have seen on the news which is not very much. One of the sites I found had a counter and it showed how much money was being sent out of the country. It was in the millions. I did not realize that it was going to be that much. The number was also going up by the second. My perspectives may be a little one sided because I am an American. I have not been really exposed to situations where illegal immigrants have cause me problems. I think that everyone has a right to go to a place where they are trying to make a better life for themselves. However, they should do it legally. People who come to the US from Mexico do jobs that we as Americans would not do. Then we look down on these people because they do yardwork or clean our house. But if these people did not have the jobs they did who would do it for us?
