Researching things is a part of everyday life which I did not realize. We research mostly everything from where is the best motel to stay at or which gas station has the cheapest gas. This chapter helps because it shows how to write a research paper. In the past I have always just looked up for information and then just sat down and wrote a paper. However, in my opinoin this chapter talked a little too much about how to research different things in life and not enough about how to actually research and write a paper.
When reading chapter three this topic is covered. I particuarly like how there is a table that breaks down the purpose, audience and context of the paper that is going to be written. Most of the time I do not consider these when I am writing. Also I do not connect the research to me. I normally do not pick subjects that I am interested in. I normally pick something that will get me enough information so I can get the paper finished.
