D#9-6 Outline

Project Claim: Illegal immigrants reap benefits from American citizens

Reason #1: Illegal immigrants take jobs away from American citizens

Warrent/Principle: Illegal immigrants are applying for jobs beside American citizens and then getting the job.

Backing: Some people might disagree with this statement because some jobs require a high school diploma or a college degree.

Evidence #1: There are millions of immigrants that come to the US each year looking for work.

Warrent/Principle: In the US, illegal immigrants can come and find work to make more money for themselves and their families.

Backing: Since January 2006, $34,591,197,968 has been sent to Mexico from illegal immigrants working in the US.

Rebuttal: Illegal immigrants apply for jobs that American citizens would not apply for like gardner or janitor.

Reason #2: Illegal immigrants children attend schools

Warrent/Principle: Children of illegal immigrants are using taxpayers money to go to school.

Backing: States spend thousand of dollars on books, desks, and other expenses.

Backing: Money that schools use come from the government which in turn is paid by taxes which illegal immigrants do not pay.

There is a rebuttal about how immigrants take jobs that Americans do not want to work such as janitors and gardeners... i believe that would be and "objection" to your arguement. You would need to rebuttal that by saying why that objection does not apply or effect your claim.
